The new River Rail streetcar service had its first passengers at a grand opening the first week of November 2004. Three replica Birney trolleys, #408, #409 and #410 constructed by Gomaco Trolley Company, were running the rails between North Little Rock and Little Rock, Arkansas. Two additional replica Birney trolleys, #411 and #412, were added to the line in 2006.
The 2.2 mile route crosses the Arkansas River on the Main Street Bridge and runs past the Clinton Presidential Center and Park.
